Benefit Reading Simply Shakespeare: The Merchant of Venice

On Monday night,  Academy Award winner, Geoffrey Rush and legendary actor, Al Pacino, joined forces for one-night only, to showcase a live benefit reading titled: Simply Shakespeare: The Merchant of Venice in support the Shakespeare Theater in Los Angeles.

Located at The Music Center/ Walt Disney Concert Hall, Tony Award winner Dan Sullivan reunited Al Pacino (Shylock) with his Merchant of Venice Broadway stars Lily Rabe (Portia) and Hamish Linklater (Bassanio) after nine years of their previous production at the New York Shakespeare in Central Park.

The production quickly became a huge success and later transferred to Broadway for a limited sold-out run.
